Matt Smart is Bowls WA Men’s State Novice Champion of Champions

We are so proud of Matt for all he has achieved in just half a season of pennants at our Club! He won the Club Novice and the Club Singles Championship. He then entered the State finals playing and winning three rounds at Morley Bowling Club on Sunday 26 April 2026 including the knockout round. On Monday with a switch in venue to Rossmoyne Bowling Club due to the rain (thank you Rossmoyne), he played very hard fought quarter and semi-finals matches to earn the right to play in the final. He had a very worthy opponent from down the street at the South Perth Bowling Club. We had almost 30 Como Bowls members on hand to watch and cheer for him all day. Matt gave us plenty to cheer about! It was an amazing day for him and for the Club!
