Dear Members –
Another wonderful weekend at the Club – fun Friday Night, great bowls Saturday, and a beautiful afternoon for Scroungers today! Big week this week – BINGO WEDNESDAY on 02 September and we still have a $10,000 Chase the Ace Jackpot with 13 cards to play on 04 September.
The Week Ahead from 30 August
- Sunday Arvo – Scroungers Sunday – 1:30pm rego. No pregame rollups!
- Monday Cheers – 4pm – 7pm
- Social Bowls Tuesday – rego from 12pm (rego closes 12:40pm) for 1pm game. Bar opens 12pm.
- Wednesday Mahjong – from 11:30am
- Bingo Wednesday – Bar opens at 4pm. Cards, flyers for sale from 6pm. Eyes down 7pm sharp!
- Social Bowls Thursday – rego from 12pm (rego closes 12:40pm) for 1pm start. Bar opens 12pm.
- THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTY -Dockers v Hawthorn 6:10pm!
- The Happiest Hour Friday – 5pm -6:30pm! Bar opens at 2pm.
- Friday Night Footy – Geelong v Carlton 5:40pm
- Chase the Ace drawing 6:45pm. Jackpot is $10,000! You must be a member to play!
- Meat Raffle drawing 6:55pm
- Saturday Social Bowls – 12:30 registration for 1pm game. Play 21 ends. Bar opens at 12pm. Please note: rego now closes at 12:40pm no exceptions so call ahead or send a whatsapp message if you are running late.
A Few Notes:
- We only have a handful of openings so please nominate your team asap for the Purslowe and Chipper Open Gender FOOTY FINAL FOURS CARNIVAL on Saturday 19 September! 3 games. Sausage Sizzle. $100 per team. Great competition. Great fun!
- GENTLE REMINDER: Membership is due now. You must be paid up to play Chase the Ace and win either the consolation prize or the Jackpot! The membership list will be culled as of 1st week in September and you will have to reapply!
- ANOTHER REMINDER: You earn points towards drinks when you remember to use your membership card at the Bar. If you don’t have a card, request one from bar staff please!
- Social Members – you are all welcome to give bowls a try on any of our social bowls games. You can play 3 social bowls games before you need to become associate members. We have plenty of bowlers to show you how to roll. Why not give bowls a go?
- Please be mindful of your belongings around the outside of the Club. We had an incident with a local who is troubled rifling through a bowls bag looking for cigarettes and cash.
- Thank you to all who have brought books and games to the Club but please no more donations – we don’t have the space for a lending library or games shelf. Thank you.

- 3 November – Melbourne Cup Day Luncheon – tickets on sale soon. $55 per for buffet luncheon, sweeps and music! Limited seating. Catered by Donato and Son!
- 6 November – API Post-tel Social Bowls – morning bowls with buffet luncheon following
- 13 November – The Lonettes! No cover charge! And Friday Night Food Truck MAC’S AMERICAN!
- 15 December – Club Christmas Dinner catered by Donato and Son! Save the date. More info to follow!
Benches and Scoreboard adverts still for sale – $1,000 for naming rights (permanent on the benches, 2 years on the scoreboards). We have advertising up on 3 of our new scoreboards and it looks awesome!
